SINAI HOSPITAL
DECOR FEATURES
MICHIGAN ART

T

he Sinai Hospital Surgery
I Center, recently opened in
Farmington Hills and features
many Michigan artists throughout
the center. Focal points include a
still life by Reva Schwayder in the
waiting area and a barbara Keidan
floral in the main hallway.
Interior designer Connie Chris-
ty of Christy Associates designed
a nautical motif throughout the
center in keeping with the exterior
facade. The exterior mimics a ship
and is rounded at one end like the
ship's bow. Exterior lights are cylin-
drical, reminiscent of a pier.
In the children's waiting area an
interesting feature is the sale water
tank. Children's seating includes a
blue and white vinyl dinghy called
the "S.S. Berry," in honor of the
donors. Window treatments por-
tray a nautical view through
screens painted with blue and
white water, white clouds and
seabirds.
