Bonds New Leadership
To Hear Business Talk

"Doing Business With
Irael" will be the theme of
an educational seminar spon-
sored by the New Leadership
Division, State of Israel
Bonds, at 8 p.m. Thursday in
the Birmingham home of D.
Dan and Betty Kahn.
Geared for executive and
general board members of the
division and their guests, the
evening will feature discus-
sions by Shelly Jackier, ex-
ecutive director of the
American-Israel Chamber of
Commerce of Michigan, and
Mona Gubow, executive direc-
tor, Governor's Conference on
Small Business.
Among her affiliations,
Mrs. Jackier is involved with
American women for Bar-Ilan
University, Women's Division
of Jewish Welfare Federation,
Hillel Day School, Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, Jewish Com-
munity Council, Women's
American ORT, Hadassah,
United Foundation and the
March of Dimes.
She chaired communal
Israel Independence Day ac-
tivities and founded and coor-
dinated the Israel Informa-
tion and Resource Center. She
also established the Detroit
Aliyah Council and has led
many missions to Israel.
Miss Gubow joined the
Michigan Department of
Commerce in 1986, specializ-
ing in joint ventures, licens-
ing agreements, distributor-
ships and subsidiary start-up
activities. She was director of
the Office of International
Development Joint • Venture
Program for the state com-
merce department. In Mexico,
she was an organizational
development specialist, senior
consulting associate, leader-
ship and objectives training
consultant and was ad-
