Cantors Perform
For Women

"Voice of the Cantor" will
be the theme of a musical
afternoon presented by Can-
tor Harold Orbach of Temple
Israel and Cantor Meredith
Stone of Cong. Emanu-El of
Westchester, N.Y., at the an-
nual Temple Israel Sisterhood
installation luncheon on
Monday at noon at the
temple.
The ceremony and program
are sponsored by the Helen S.
Tobias Memorial Fund. Being
installed as president is Sara
Hoffman. Installing officer
will be Sonia Syme.
Chairing the installation
and luncheon is Janie Roth,
with Gayle Hirsch and Laurie
Blinder as luncheon
chairmen. There is a fee. For
reservations, call the temple

Beverly Liss and Beverly
Yost have been named
chairmen of the annual donor
luncheon sponsored by the
American Women for Bar-
Ilan University, announced
Barbara Stollman, president
of the group's Detroit chapter.
The luncheon will be held
on May 26 and will be hosted
by Diane Klein. Entertain-
ment will be provided by the

Michigan Opera Theater. The
meeting will also include the
election of officers and a new
board for the Detroit Chapter.
Funds raised by the group,
both from this function and
through its other activities,
will go to Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity's library system.
Mrs. Liss is past ar-
rangements chairman for
Bar-Ilan. She is a vice presi-
dent of Women's Division,
Jewish Welfare Federation,
and is involved in many facets
of Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Mrs. Yost has been affiliated
with the Detroit Soviet Jewry
Committee and has also been
active on behalf of Adat
Shalom Synagogue.

Conference Set

Women?'
Dr. Amy Goldfaden, an in-
ternist on the staff of Sinai
Hospital, who will focus on
"Osteoporosis and
Menopause: How to Minimize
their Impact on Your Life";
and
Judge Susan M. Moiseev,
who will discuss "Suddenly
Alone: Legal Issues of Divorce
and Widowhood!'
