staff/counselor to the
secretary of education in
Washington D.C., will be the
featured speaker on May 16
at 8 p.m. at Temple Beth El,
sponsored by the Detroit
chapter of The American
Jewish Committee.
Kristol is on leave from his
position of assistant professor
of public policy at the John F.
Kennedy School of Govern-
ment at Harvard University.
Prior to joining the Kennedy
School, Dr. Kristol taught
political philosophy and
American politics in the
political science department
at the University of Penn-
sylvania. He received his A.B.
and Ph.D. degrees in govern-
ment • from Harvard
University.
His publications have ap-
peared in journals such as
Social Philosophy and Policy,
the Chicago Law Review, the
Harvard Journal of Law and
Public Policy and Public
Interest.
Dr. Sue Marx Smock, in-
terim dean of the College of
Urban, Labor and Metro-
politan Affairs at Wayne
State University, will preside.
The series is co-sponsored
by Temple Beth El and this
final lecture by the Young
