The guest choir will be the Bel Canto Choral Society with Denise Ogden conduc- ting. Sylvia and Rochelle Barr will be performing two piano selections of new music from Israel. Three temple choirs will sing the liturgical responses and anthems, con- ducted by Mrs. Jason Tickton. Dr. Richard Hertz will be the narrator, and Prof. Jason Tickton will serve as music director and organist. The program is sponsored by the Sandra T. Bloom Memorial Music Fund, courtesy of Barbara and Douglas Bloom. The public is invited. Sylvia Barr is a concert graduate student of the Detroit Institute of Musical Art. At 15, a student of Cass Technical High School, she represented Detroit playing harp with the National High School Orchestra in Dallas. Rochelle Barr began her piano lessons with her mother's teacher, Dr. Alle Zuidema. She then studied with the late Edward Bred- shall. lbday a professional ac- companist, Rochelle Barr also plays the organ. For the past four years, she has been the assistant organist at Temple Beth El. Loneliness Topic Of Lectures Dr. Miriam Shapiro, pro- fessor of Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary, will deliver three lectures on "Fighting Loneliness in the Modern World" May 13-15 at Cong. B'nai Moshe. The program will be in memory of Rabbi Moses Lehrman. During May 14 ser- vices, a plaque will be unveil- ed which was issued posthumously to the synagogue's late rabbi by the JTS "for distinguished ser- vice to the Jewish communi- ty and Jewish causes." Rabbi Lehrman was one of 20 Jewish leaders so honored by the seminary. The weekend will begin with a family Shabbat dinner on May 13, after which Shapiro will speak on "How To Avoid Loneliness in Mar- riage and Beyond." There is a charge for the dinner. During May 14 services, Shapiro will deliver the guest sermon on
