Following the luncheon Detroit News columnist George Cantor will speak on "How the Media Mangles the News." Cantor has twice been cited by UPI as best colum- nist in the state. He has his own bi-weekly segment on the Channel 7 news. His "Looking at Detroit" com- mentary is featured on WWJ radio. He was the assistant city editor of the Detroit Free Press, before being appointed travel editor. He produced a three-volume set of regional guidebooks for the Universi- ty of Michigan Press entitled The Great Lakes Guidebook. Most recently, he has been on assignment to Israel, Ger- many, and throughout the United States to produce an exclusive series of articles and columns for the Detroit News.
