within two years.

place of worship within
Auschwitz.
Loranc said Poland had of-
fered the convent a choice of
three specific cities outside
the area. Church authorities
were in the process of con-
sidering two of these loca-
tions, and would make a final
choice within two to three
months.

Inclusion Urged
Washington (JTA) — Red
Cross associations in Europe,
Latin America and Asia are
being asked to officially
recognize the emblem of
Israel's Magen David Adorn,
in an effort to bypass the In-
ternational Red Cross's con-
tinued refusal to do so.
Rabbi Rubin Dobin, inter-
national president of Opera-
tion Recognition for Magen
Dovid Adorn of Israel, said
that the American Red Cross
has already entered into what
is known as "bilateral
recognition," by placing the
Magen Dovid Adorn emblem
on its letterhead along with
the Red Cross and Muslim
Red Crescent.
The American Red Cross,
with the support of President
Reagan and Congress, has
long taken the lead in press-
ing for international
recognition.

Italians Remove
Grapefruit
Rome (JTA) — The Italian
Health Ministry on Tuesday
ordered the removal of grape-
fruits from all shops, markets
and warehouses in the coun-
try after grapefruit con-
taminated with a deadly
poison was found in a Rome
supermarket.
The ministry's order and a
public alert to avoid eating
grapefruit or drinking grape-
fruit juice did not specify
where the fruit originated.
Rome's health assessor,
Violento Ziantoni, said that
he believed the poisoned fruit
had come from Israel.
Anonymous telephone
callers told the Italian news
media last week that Jaffa
grapefruit from Israel had
been poisoned in an act of
sabotage, to protest Israel's
treatment of the Palestinians.
