Dickman has established a permanent en- dowment fund at the Fresh Air Society, in memory of his parents, to be called the Frank and Dorothy Dickman Memorial Travel Trip Fund. It will be used to support the Silverman Village Travel and Outdoor Challenge Pro- gram for adolescent boys age 1445. This 22 day program from July 25 to Aug. 15 is in- tended for adolescent boys with social and/or academic problems, and it offers challenging activities that re- quire group cooperation, com- munication, and responsible individual behavior. The pro- gram is designed to increase self-confidence, individual responsibility, and positive peer and adult relationships. This summer the program will take 16 participants for a three-day canoe trip down the Au Sable River, followed by three days of back packing in the Pictured Rocks Na- tional Park, a one-day white water rafting trip on the On- tario River, and technical rock climbing and caving ac- tivities at Rattlesnake Point, located just south of Ontario. Throughout the trip the campers set up their own campsites, and plan and prepare their own meals. The group will first spend three days at Silverman Village located at Camp Maas near Ortonville, Michigan in preparation for the trip. During this time out- door survival skills, canoeing, and climbing will be em- phasized along with group safety rules and responsible group behavior. Spaces are still available. For information, call the Fresh Air Society, 661-0600.
