tle challenging physically, he
admitted during a recent
rehearsal break.
"I'm kicked, scratched,
banged against the walls, bit-
ten," he says. "It's been pret-
ty exhausting.
"It's also strange, playing
myself. And it's difficult to re-
live some of the experiences
in the play. I'm doing it by
just pretending I'm not play-
ing myself. I'm approaching
the job as an actor would.
Otherwise, I couldn't do it.
But Steve Rothman is a
wonderful director, and he's
helped a lot."
In addition to Buten, others
in the cast are Michael
Kelley, Robert Grossman,
Evelyn Orbach, Laurie
Brown, Mike Evans, and
Thomas D. Mahard. Alter-
nating in the role of Adam
will be Chinelo Amen-Ra and
Micheal Wilson.
