Senior Adults
Salute Israel

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center will have a
musical presentation, "A
Salute to Israel and the
U.S.A." in Jaffe Hall at 2 p.m.
Sunday. It will feature Marci
Shulman, soprano; Miriam
Ciesla, flutist; Susan and Ed-
ward Chalom, dancers; and
Lillian Zellman, pianist.
There is a nominal charge
which includes refreshments.
On Monday and Thursday a
video, entitled, This Is Israel,
will be shown in the JPM
lobby at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, the movie,
Israel Reports will be shown
at 2 p.m. in the assembly hall
of the JPM. Frances Weinberg
will review the book, The
Unorthodox Murder of Rabbi
Wahl, at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
Room 4 of the JPM.
Sinai Hospital's Dr. Walter
L. Sabota will present a lec-
ture/workshop entitled, "Do
You Remember — Memory
Exercises and 'Techniques" in
the assembly hall of the JPM
at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Mezzo soprano Alice
Blumberg, accompanied by
Doris Hall, will perform her
fifth annual concert for the
For Women Only Club at 1
p.m. Thursday in Jafe Hall.
This concert is dedicated in
memory of Mary Cohan and
Pauline Yeager.
Cantor Louis Klein of Cong.
B'nai Moshe, accompanied by
Lillian Zellman will enter-
tain the Culture Club at 1
p.m. Thursday in Jaffe Hall.
There is no charge for either
program. The public is
invited.

Discussion
Group Starts

A drop-in discussion group
for mature adults meets on
Mondays at 1:30 p.m. in the
atrium at the Jewish Corn-
munity Center, Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Building.
The group, with facilitator
Leila Raden, focuses on issues
such as coping with change,
dealing with grown children,
handling criticism and more.

Senior Adults
Sing For Israel

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center, Maple/Drake,
announces that Marci Shul-
man, cantorial soloist, will
lead the singing in a celebra-
tion of Israel's 40th birthday
at 1 p.m. Monday in room 239
of the Center.
The program includes the
opportunity to sing along in
Hebrew, Yiddish and English.
There will be a pre-program
luncheon. There is a small
charge for non members.

Transportation
Service Expands

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Building an-
nounces the expansion of the
door-to-door transportation
service for senior adults who
wish to attend JPM activities.
Older adults in the areas of
Oak Park, Southfield, Royal
Oak and northwest Detroit
will be picked up at their
homes at about 10 a.m. and
returned home at about 3:15
p.m. on designated days, Mon-
day through Thursday. For in-

In Southfield

The Friends of the
Southfield Public Library will
have their semi-annual book
sale Tuesday and Wednesday
9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and
Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to
noon in the Southfield Civic
Center Pavilion.
