Cantor Pearlston, from the Free Synagogue of Flushing, N.Y., will both sing and deliver a sermon in song at services on April 22. He will meet with the Ibrah Class and sing at the Shabbat ser- vice April 23, concluding his program 10 a.m. April 24 when he will sing at the brotherhood full breakfast. Cantor Pearlston received his degree in conducting from the Occidental College in Los Angeles and his cantorial in- vestiture from Hebrew Union College in New York. He at- tended the Rubin Academy of Music and the Haim Green- berg Seminary, both in Jerusalem, and was a scholar- ship student at the Julliard School in New York, where he performed at the America Opera Center. He also has written a com- formed with the Washington Civic Opera, the Central City and Open Stage Opera Com- panies in Colorado, Opera Omaha, and the War Memorial Theatre of Trenton, among others. He was featured in the world premiere of the Yiddish opera Gimpel The Fool in the role of Leib Wolf, which was written specifically for him.
