On The Fringe Of Fashion New York (JTA) — Wearing tzitzit (fringes) can be a com- fortable, visible and now fashionable reminder of the Torah's required mitzvot for any Jew with Avrahaum Segol's line of fringe accom- modating clothing. Segol has patented a shirt that remains two-thirds open and one-third closed on top, with a flap allowing for freedom of movement. Fringes may be attached through a slot to the four cor- ners, eliminating the need to cover tzizit with a suit, especially in the summer. Segol also fashions the patented design into under- shirts, sport coats and other aesthetically appealing styles. Dresses for women also can sport fringes and the design is specially manufactured to expand during pregnancy. The flap feature can be re- leased for breast-feeding. "The garments are design- ed to enwrap the individual," Segol said, and can be worn by religious Jews or "people who normally would not wear tzizit."
