Education Day
At Beth Shalom

The sisterhood of Cong.
Beth Shalom will have its an-
nual Education Day on April
28 at the synagogue. The
speaker will be Sharon
Schwartz, and the theme of
the day will be: "The Image
of the Jewish Woman in
American Literature, from
Yiddishe Momma to
`Princess!"
Schwartz has studied
history and English
literature both at the Univer-
sity of Michigan and at
Oakland University. She has
taught English literature at
United Hebrew Schools,
Hillel Day School, Midrasha,
and at the senior adult
department of the Jewish
Community Center.
Registration will be at 9:30
a.m. The fee includes morn-
ing coffee and cookies and a
dairy buffet lunch. Reserva-
tion deadline is April 18.

Evening Of Art

Orchard Hills and Topaz
Chapters, Women's American
ORT, will host "An Evening of
Art" on April 16 at the
Danielle Peleg Art Gallery,
5755 W. Maple, West
Bloomfield.
The art show and sale will
begin at 8:30 p.m. and will
feature works from artists
such as Vicky Montesinos,
Jiang, Calman Shemi, Theo
Tobiasse, Raphael Abecassis,
Dafna Cohen and many
others. Desserts and
beverages will be served and
a brief presentation will be

made on selected artists.
