brown paper. Whip egg
whites until stiff peaks form,
gradually beating in Y2 cup
sugar, lemon peel, vanilla and
margarine. combine potato
starch, matzah meal and
almonds. Fold into egg
whites, then fold into egg
yolks. Turn into prepared
pan. Bake at 350 degree for
50 minutes. Invert and cool.
Make filling: combine first
three ingredients and beat at
high speed until thick and
smooth. Remove cake from
pan and split into three
layers. Sprinkle the fresh
strawberries with sugar to
taste. Stir strawberries until
sauce forms. Place thickest
layer in cake plate; spread
with filling, then strawberry
sauce. Repeat for remaining
layers. Chill. Just before serv-
ing, drizzle a little berry
sauce over cake.

PASSOVER EGG ROLLS

This unusual holiday recipe
was contributed to Kosher
Cookery by Rose Wisel.

Leaves:
4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
13/4 cup water
1 cup cake meal or matzah
meal

2 tablespoons oil
Filling:
%_cup diced celery
1 /2 cup diced mushrooms
% cup diced green pepper
1/2 cup diced onion
1 egg
1 /4 cup matzah meal
To make the leaves, beat
eggs and salt together. Add
water and mix well. Add cake
or matzah meal. Heat oil in 7
inch skillet, pour in enough
batter to cover pan. Fry until
brown on one side. Combine
all filling ingredients. Fill
leaves on browned side. Fry in
oil or bake in greased pan at
350 degrees for one-half hour.

from Buffalo.
1 cup grated potato
1% cup matzah meal
2 tablespoons oil
3 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 /2 cup cold water
Mix ingredients together
thoroughly and let stand for
1 hour. Moisten hands light-
ly and form balls. Drop into
boiling salted water or soup
and cook about 1 hour,
covered.

Yehuda Blum To Speak
At Akiva Annual Dinner

Yehuda Z. BLum, former
representative of Israel to the
United Nations, will be the
guest speaker at the 24th an-
niversary banquet of Akiva
Hebrew Day School, it was
announced by Salek
Lessman, banquet general
chairman.
The banquet will be held
April 24 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek. The guests of honor
will be Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Adelsberg, who will be
presented with Akiva's 113111-
chei Torah Award.
Blum has held legal posts
with the Israel Supreme
Court, the Israel Defense
Forces, the Israel Ministry for
Foreign Affairs and the
United Nations.
A member of the law facul-
ty at Hebrew University since
1965, he is currently professor
of international law.
He has been a visiting pro-
fessor at the law schols of the
University of Texas, New York
University and the Universi-
ty of Michigan.
He has been the law editor
for the Encyclopedia Hebraica

Yehuda Blum

since 1973, and is the author
of two books and of numerous
scholarly articles in Hebrew,
English and German on
various topics in interna-
tional law.
Blum served as Israel's per-
manent representative to the
UN from 1978 to . 1984.
