Yom Hazikaron
Rite Planned

The community-wide obser-
vance of Israel War Memorial
Day, Yom Hazikaron, will
take place April 19 at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center. The event is
sponsored by the Israel 40th
anniversary committee.
The memorial is set for 7:30
p.m. in the Center's Shiffman
Hall.
David Hermelin will give
an opening address, and
representatives from 40 local
synagogues, temples and
youth organizations will par-
ticipate in a presentation of
colors.
The memorial torch will be
lit by an Israeli war veteran
and an American volunteer
who fought for independence
in 1948.
Also on the program are
Mira Eisenberg, Rabbi .Paul
Yedwab, Cantor Max Shiman-
sky and Rabbi Alan
Meyerowitz.
Representatives of Akiva
Hebrew Day School, B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization,
Hillel Day School, United
Hebrew Schools and Young
Judea will take part with
poems and musical
presentations.

Inbal Tickets
Still Available

Good seats are still
available for a Music Hall
performance by the Israeli
dance company Inbal. The
show will launch the commu-
nity-wide celebration of
Israel's 40th anniversary of
statehood, 7:30 p.m., April 17.
Tickets are available at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Commu-
nity Center, Music Hall and
all Ticketron locations.
The Inbal performance is
made possible, in part, by a
grant from the National
Foundation for Jewish
Culture (NFJC), which is
underwriting a number of
programs in the United
States and Israel, in celebra-
tion of the 40th anniversary.
In addition to their perfor-
mance at Music Hall, Inbal
will hold a dance workshop at
8:30 p.m. Monday, April 18 at
the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center. There
will be no charge for the
workshop.
