to receive the Tomchei ribrah
Award of Akiva Hebrew Day
School, it was announced by
Steven Z. Cohen, Akiva
president.
The award will be presented
at Akiva's 24th anniversary
dinner on April 24 at Cong.

chairman of the event.
The Adelsbergs are active
in many organizations, in-
cluding B'nai B'rith,
Mizrachi, Shaarit Haplaytah,
United Hebrew Schools and

Jewish Music Expert
To Give Haar Lecture
The Moishe Haar Founda-
tion and the Sholem
Aleichem Institute will hold
its annual event in memory of
the late Moishe Haar at 7:30
p.m. April 17 at the United
Hebrew Schools.
Haar was director of and
teacher at the Sholem
Aleichem Institute for many
years. The institute is a
secular Jewish cultural and
educational organization.
The committee this year in-
cludes Lillian Gold, Bernard
Friedman and Rose Kaye.
Henry Sapoznik is the
featured artist. He will pre-
sent a program entitled
"From Cantors to the Cat-
skills," 100 years of Yiddish
American music.
He is a pioneer in the ren-
naissance of klezmer music in
America.
At present he is director of
the Max and Freda Weinstein
Sound Archives at the YIVO
Institute for Jewish Research.
He is also director and
Henry Sapoznik
designer of YIVO's "Yiddish
Folk Arts Program" which
produces the yearly
"Klezkamp." He has written
"The Complete Klezmer" an
anthology of klezmer music
and history.
Sapoznik also holds a
degree in ethnomusicology.
