ENTERTAINMENT I" 'Attic' Retells Frank Story Forty years after the original publication of the Diary of Anne Frank, the true story of the woman responsi- ble for the protection of Anne Frank and her family will be revealed in a General Foods Golden Showcase Presenta- tion of The Attic: The Hiding of Anne Frank on CBS. The tale of how the diary came to be preserved will also be told through this television drama .produced by Telecom Entertainment, Inc. in association with Yorkshire Television. Mary Steenburgen stars as Miep Gies, the young woman employed by Otto Frank, who takes on the responsibility of hiding and providing for the Frank family during the Nazi occupation of Holland. Frank is portrayed by international- ly acclaimed actor Paul Scofield. Academy Award-winning actors, Steenburgen and Scofield head an interna- tional cast, including Huub Stapel, Victor Spinetti, Ronald Pickup, Eleanor Bron and Lisa Jacobs, who makes her American television debut in the role of Anne Frank. The Attic: The Hiding of Anne Frank, is being filmed on location in Amsterdam and at the Yorkshire studio in Leeds, England.
