Pin Sectional

Devastation, Inc., became
the first sectional champion
in 27 years from Detroit's
Brotherhood Eddie Jacobson
B'nai B'rith bowling league,
according to unofficial results
from this month's B'nai
B'rith sectional tournament,
held in the the metro area.
All results must be verified
by the International B'nai
B'rith Bowling Association.
Devastation posted a 6565
score in the Green section on
March 19-20, when local
bowlers rolled target scores.
Out-of-town bowlers took to
the lanes last weekend.
Freedom 3, from Pittsburgh's
Freedom Lodge, was second in
the Green section with a 6548
total.

Semi-finals

The unbeaten Bulls charg-
ed into the finals of the Honey
Berris men's basketball
league on March 23, downing
the Pistons 72-53. Dave Bax-
ter poured in 30 points for the
victors. Jeff Mayer tallied 14
for the Pistons. The Knicks
will join the Bulls in the final,
thanks to their 58-46 win over
the Celtics in the other semi-
final. Eddie Sanders and
Scott Oshinsky scored 18
points apiece for the Knicks.
Jerry Flowers led the Celts
with 18. No date was set for
the championship contest.

Akiva Nipped
In Hockey

The Akiva Day School floor
hockey team was nipped,
15-14, last Monday in its
latest encounter with an
Akiva alumni squad, at
Akiva. Raffle Zuroff led Akiva
with five goals. Chaim
Goldman added four, Joel
Starr three and David
Rosenberg two. Alumni stan-
douts included Michael
Rosenthal, Abe Skorski,
Sidney Katz, David Zuroff
and Akiva Goldman. Akiva
coach Moshe Rose says the
team will continue to play "as
long as we can get games!'

Genocide Treaty
Gets Support

Washington — Declaring
that the United States is the
one country that can convert
the genocide convention into
a moral force that would pre-
vent mass ethnic slayings,
B'nai B'rith called on Con-
gress to pass legislation that
would ratify the genocide
treaty.

Stone Unveiled

Los Angeles — Israeli
Prime Minister Yitzhak
Shamir recently unveiled the
cornerstone of the Simon
Wiesenthal Center's new Beit
Hashoah/Museum of 'Mier-
ance at a ceremony in Los
Angeles.
