A JOYOUS PASSOVER TO ALL
OUR CUSTOMERS AND FRIENDS

a group of talented young
cooks, I have not been able to
recruit the right person to
lead them.
"Just before the holidays,
Chef Bill Watson was brought
in as a corporate chef to
groom Chef de Cuisine Linda
Praasterink. Unfortunately,
his menu and style did not
agree with our guests. Conse-
quently, at the beginning of
February we parted company.
Rather than replace him with
yet another new style of
cuisine, I made a decision
that should have been made
months ago. On Feb. 8 I took
over the executive chef's posi-
tion at Sebastian's.
"Since opening my first
restaurant eight years ago, I
have missed the excitement
and satisfaction of cooking in
a fine-dining restaurant. Hav-
ing five operations and 250
employees has kept me from
getting too directly involved
with any single aspect of any
of the restaurants. However,
Sebastian's is a special
restaurant that requires the
special attention that only a
proprietor can give.
"I hope that you enjoy my
menu and that you express
any opinions you may have to
either myself or my staff.
Whenever possible, I would be
happy to come out of the kit-
chen to listen to your com-
ments or suggestions."

MONDAY MUSICAL

Nights at Kingsley Inn was
kicked off recently by over
200 people in the sunken Ot-
towa Ballroom . . . Johnny
Trudell's big band brought
back many memories of the
late '40s and '50s . . .
Songstress Ortheia Barnes
said before her vocalizing ses-
sion with Johnny, "Being
backed by the big band sound
is like coming on stage in a
mink coat."
JAY ROBERTS, "in train-
ing" for his new early morn-
ing format that begins this
Monday (5:30 a.m. to 10:30
a.m.) on CKLW Radio, in-
troduced Johnny . . . and
made sure not to stay too late
. . . He's been getting up at 4
a.m. every morning . . . WJR's
Gene Elzy introduced Ortheia
Barnes.
WHO'S WHERE Dept. . . .
starting April 8 . . . Ron
Coden Show at Prock's Com-
edy Showroom, W. Maple in
Clawson . . . with Steve Fava,
bass, and Ron Blight, guitar
. . . two shows Friday and
Saturday eves, 8:30 and 11
p.m. . . . Standup comedian
will open each show in the
restaurant's lower level.
