"This will be a canvas sneaker
season," says Tom Schey, owner
of Hansel & Gretel in
Birmingham. "We've got hightop
Converse All-Stars in all colors,
multi-colors, wild prints and glow-
in-the-dark dinosaur prints. We're
even selling them in newborn
sizes."
Julie Zivov from Greg's Shoes
agrees. "Hightops are still very
big. We're selling lots of
Converse this season that are
two-toned color blocked with
cuffs. We're also seeing both
boys and girls go for the Keds
slip-ons and the new Keds
hightop booties, which is really a
compromise in height between
the classic hightop and the slip-
on."
Zivov is also predicting that
many of the shoes that are
knockoffs of women's shoe styles
wil be very popular "Girls are
going to love our white leather
loafers with pastel buttons."
