airy linens have a summery
look.
Washable silk is again strong.
"It's a great seller, all year long,"
says Irina Rivin of lrina's in
Birmingham. At Hersh's there
are washable silk shorts in
vibrant colors of orange, blue
and red. Begadim also has a
complete line of washable silk
outfits.
Denim is not as big this year
as in past seasons. Store
owners Hersh Rothenberg of
Hersh's and Sally Horvitz of
Sally's Designs both mention a
hot selling demin jacket with
comic strip characters.

DRESSES

Dresses with jackets are the
new look this season. Liz
Claiborne shows a brown and
ivory dress with a v-neck jacket
in linen. Claiborne calls this look
"A new look in city suits." This is
a perfect statement for career
dressing.
"We have very pretty, feminine
dresses closer to the body and
a little bit longer," says Sue
Louissa of Eleganza. Some
dresses are fitted at the waist
and have a flip skirt. Designer
Lloyd Williams has a sleeveless
dotted dress with a wide belt at
