two coveted Coty awards in the
late seventies for introducing
and upgrading fashion in the
lingerie field. He also received
the Committee Fashion
Designers Award for excellence
in at-home wear clothes and
lingerie.
Sanchez doesn't refer to his
clothes as lingerie. He calls his
designs the at-home collection.
The at-home collection has
many forms of lingerie. Dresses,
beachwear and evening hostess
outfits are included. "Our
collection has nothing to do with
sleeping separates. It's done as
a ready-to-wear collection. We

nightgown as a dress," explains
Sanchez.
The prices of his lavish
collection begin at $50 and go
as high as $1,000. He has 60
nationwide accounts that carry
the collection. One account is

Neiman-Marcus, I. Magnin,
Bergdorf Goodman and
boutiques like Roz & Sherm in
the Bloomfield Plaza.
Sanchez was recently in town
for a fashion show of his spring
collection at Roz & Sherm. The
fashions drew rave reviews from
the crowd with customers
men and women — purchasing
outfits off the models' backs.
For men, his collection
contains cozy robes, boxer
shorts and drawstring pants. Ken
Norton, the heavyweight
champion, has endorsed the
collection since it began in
1983. Bill Cosby wears a
Sanchez robe on his television
program.
For women on the beach,
there are cotton cover-ups,
boxer shorts and dresses. For
evening, silk separates and
gowns for hostessing in
dramatic colors. And, of course,
sexy lingerie.
For spring 1988, Sanchez
uses a variety of colors,
including bright pastels. He also
