MENU DEPT. . . . from
Gina Horwitz . . . "Praline
Brunch Toast . . . 8 eggs, Ph
cups milk, 1 Tbsp. firmly
packed brown sugar, 2 tsp.
vanilla, 8 slices (3 /4") French
or Italian bread, Y4 cup maple
syrup, V2 cup chopped pecans
. . . Thoroughly blend eggs,
milk, 1 tablespoon brown
sugar and vanilla. Melt
margarine in 13x9x2 inch
baking dish. Stir in 1/2 cup
brown sugar and syrup.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Carefully place bread slices
on nuts. Pour entire egg-milk
mixture over bread. Cover
and refrigerate several hours
or overnight. Bake uncovered
at 350 degrees, approximate-
ly 35 minutes until puffed
and lightly browned. For each
serving, invert 2 slices onto
