In a dozen countries on three conti-
nents, AJWS is helping impoverished
peoples help themselves.
This Passover, you can help too.
Send your tax-deductible contribution
to AJWS.

For Elijah. And for the millions of
people around the world who suffer
each day — from hunger, disease, from
burdens almost too harsh to imagine.
As Jews, we cannot ignore them. We
must help. And through the American
Jewish World Service we can.
The AJWS is the sole organization
founded to enable America's Jews to
reach out the hand of friendship and
support to suffering people in the de-
veloping world, regardless of their faith.
In Ethiopia, a nation torn by famine
and war, AJWS is installing Israeli-
designed portable silos to protect per-
ishable grain supplies. The program will
cut grain losses dramatically
In Mexico City, AJWS is building a
children's village for orphans of the
1986 earthquake.
In the Philippines, AJWS is helping
unemployed sugar workers learn new
skills to grow enough corn and rice to
provide for their families.

The Afikoman Pledge
Tonight we read together:
This is the bread of poverty
that our ancestors ate.
Let all who are hungry come and eat!
Let all who are in need share
in the hope of Passover!
This year we all are slaves,
Next year may we all be free.
Tonight, to redeem the Afikoman:
We renew our commitment to help
all who are hungry around the world,
so that next year we all may be free.

Share the Afikoman — and all the
hope of Passover — with those who
need it most.
