sent two letters, to which he
received responses from
Daniel.
A student at Norup Middle
Schools in Oak Park, the
12-year-old Kenny enjoys rune
ning, floor hockey, soccer and
TV. One activity ,that he
shares with Daniel is collect-
ing. While Kenny's interest is
airplanes, Daniel's is stamps,
coins, calendars, corks, packs
of cigarettes and bottles of dif-
ferent-shapes.
"I hope he has a good time
and meets lots of people." But
he also recognizes that there
are still many Soviet Jewish
youth yet to leave the Soviet
Union. "I hope more bar mitz-
vah partners will come out."
For Mrs. Kozloff, Kenny's
bar mitzvah takes on an even
greater significance. "It's
more than just symbolism.
It's the real thing?'

fessor of sociology and an-
thropolgy at Hebrew Univer-
sity in Jerusalem, will speak

Aran is currently a visiting
fellow in the Near Eastern
Studies department of
Princeton University. He
served as a major in the
paratroop corps of the Israeli
Army, has worked for the
Ministry of Education in
youth guidance and was
director of a training
workshop for senior govern-
ment officials at Hebrew
University.

Temple Israel
Family Retreat

The Temple Israel Family
Retreat for third-, fourth- and
fifth-graders will be held
April 29-May 1 at the Butzel
Conference Center in
Ortonville.
The weekend will revolve
around the theme "Family
Connection?' It will be carried
out by the staff of Temple
Israel in conjunction with
Jewish Experience for
Families and the staff at

The board of directors of
Cong. B'nai Moshe voted to
start a nursery school to meet
in the synagogue's
redecorated classrooms.
Rabbi Allan S. Meyerowitz
of B'nai Moshe said the pro-
gram will be individual child-
oriented, "provided in a lov-
ing environment, with a
blend of the secular and Con-
servative Judaic traditions."
Half-day and full-day pro-
grams with lunch options are
available, with discounts for
member-families.

of Israel's 40th anniversary,
CLAL (the National Jewish
Center for Learning and
Leadership) has been commis-
sioned by the Conference of
Presidents of Major American
Jewish Organizations to
create a contemporary ver-
sion of the Passover Seder
chant, Dayenu.
Two CLAL scholars, Rabbi
Steven Greenberg and Rabbi
David Nelson of New York,
created this Dayenu "to
celebrate some of the small
steps taken by our people
towards the not-yet complete
