The Post Office Department announced that it would not accept money orders for Palestine. A Detroit rally demanding the lifting of the embargo on arms to Palestine was held at Cass Technical High School. JARC Seeks Help For Client Seders JARC (Jewish Association for Retarded Citizens) needs individuals to help lead sedarim for residents of the Haverim Homes and for clients in its other residential programs. JARC staff will work with volunteers to accommodate their own families' seder schedule and will also help them tailor the seder to the JARC clients' interests. Call Bonnie Cohn, JARC volunteer services coordinator, 557-7650, to share a seder with developmentally disabled men and women in the Jewish community. Since its beginning in the 1960s, JARC has established ten Haverim Homes in southern Oakland County which provide residents the opportunity to reach their maximum potential in a warm and caring Jewish atmosphere. JARC also operates the Maas Supported Independence Program and the DeRoy Independent Apartment Program which assists developmentally disabled individuals to live in their own apartments throughout the community. L-4 FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 1988 PESAH ICE CREAM Let the younger children gather the ingredients: 3 eggs, 1/2 cup unsalted margarine, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup hot water. Let an older child add the above ingredients in a blender in the order they are written. Let one of the other children add one of the following flavors: Vanilla: 1 tsp. vanilla/vanilla sugar; Cocoa: 2 tsps. cocoa; Coffee: 1 tsp. coffee; Orange: 2 tsps. grated orange rind. Mom can blend until well mixed, then put it in the freezer. This is best prepared at least one day before it will be served. It also makes a good dessert if served on sponge cake. MARBLE CHIFFON CAKE Let the younger children gather the ingredients: 1 cup cake meal, 1/4 cup potato starch, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 /2 cup oil, 8 eggs separated, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 3 tbsps. pareve cocoa. Let the older children combine cake meal, potato starch, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and add oil, egg yolks, water, and lemon juice. Mom can beat at medium speed until smooth. In another bowl, Dad can beat egg whites until very stiff. Pour batter mixture over egg whites and fold gently. Pour 2/3 of the mixture in an ungreased 10" tube pan. One of the kids can fold the cocoa in the remaining batter. The other kids and Dad can spoon the cocoa batter here and there over mixture in pan. Mom can cut through with a knife to create marble effect. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until completely done. Invert on neck of bottle and cool thoroughly.
