TV Violence
Topic For Women

"Entertainment Violence —
Society in Jeopardy" will be
the topic of the annual joint
meeting between the League
of Jewish Women's Organiza-
tions and the League of
Catholic Women on Thursday
at 12:15 p.m. at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
The keynote speaker will be
Dr. Thomas E. Radecki, na-
tionally known psychiatrist
from Champaign, Ill. Dr.
Radecki is the chairman and
research director for the Na-
tional Coalition on Television
Violence. He has appeared on
the Donahue Show, CNN
News, 60 Minuts, USA net-
work's Sonia Show and
dozens of other programs.
He has been involved in a
number of court hearings and
murder trials involving the
game Dungeons and Dragons
and is a recognized national
expert on the effects of par-
ticipants in the game.
Carole Kaftan is president
of the League of Jewish
Women's Organizations and
Marilyn Lundy is president of
the League of Catholic
Women. The afternoon will
begin with coffee and dessert,
and there will be a minimum
charge.
The program is open to the
community. Jeannie Weiner,
vice president of the League
of Jewish Women's Organiza-
tions, will serve as chairman.

with a Touch of Yiddish
Flavor" on Monday at 8 p.m.
at the synagogue.
Rebecca Pearlman, sister-
hood member, will star. The
slate for the 1988-1990 term
will be presented. Refresh-
ments will be served, and
guests are invited. Adele
Staller is program chairman.

speak on "Judaism and
Business Ethics" at a
meeting of the Greater
Detroit Council of
Naamat/USA on Thursday at
1 p.m. in the board room of
