Jewish Humor for Survival and Beyond is the first in a series of
residential three-day sessions for persons 55 years of age or older
who are interested in intellectual stimulation, the warm fellowship of
others, and relaxing outdoor recreational experiences in the lovely
surroundings of the Butzel Conference Center. The program begins
with lunch on Monday, April 18 and continues through the noon
meal on Wednesday, April 20.
Jewish Humor for Survival and Beyond will feature Dr. Allan
Gould, and Dr. Sheila Feigelson. Dr. Gould, one of today's most
exciting and inspiring lecturers, is the author of Letters I've Been
Meaning To Write and co-author of The Unorthodox Book of
Jewish Records and Lists. Dr. Sheila Feigelson is an expert on
interpersonal communications, team building, and harnessing
personal resources. Her current interest lies in the positive power of
humor.
The fees for the program include room and board, lectures, and
recreational activities in the out-of-doors. $195 per person (double
occupancy), $175 per person triple occupancy. Transportation
can be arranged.
The University in the Woods is co-sponsored by Tamarack Camps
and Midrasha College of Jewish Studies.

Strasbourg, France (JTA) —
The Parliament of Europe re-
jected ratification of three
economic agreements Israel
signed last year with the
12-nation European Commu-
nities. Many of the deputies
said afterwards that their
negative votes were cast as "a
sanction" against Israel's
policies in the West Bank and
Gaza Strip.
The three protocols were
negotiated over the last two
years by Israel and the Euro-
pean Common Market Com-
mission. The first dealt with
Israel's future trade relations
with the E.C. and Israeli
agricultural and industrial
exports.
The second provided E.C.
financial aid, including a first
installment of $90 million.
