Mrs. Rose Bergstein of New
York with her family in
memory of her husband, Reb
Avrohom Bergstein. She is
the grandmother of Rabbi
Chaim Bergstein at Bais
Chabad of Farmington Hills.
Cantor Schneur Zalman
Baumgarten, who made his
- -debut as a cantor at 15, will
be featured at the event.
Musical entertainment will
be provided by the Segulah
Band. There is a charge. For

Sociologist Set
To Speak Here

The adult education com-
mittee of Cong. Beth Achim
announces that Dr. Gideon
Aran will speak at 10 a.m.
March 27 at the synagogue.
His topic will be "Religion,
Politics and the Jewish
Underground in Israel."
Dr. Aran, a professor of
sociology and social an-
thropology at Hebrew Univer-
sity in Jerusalem, is current-
ly a visiting fellow in the
Near Eastern studies depart-
ment of Princeton University.
He was the recipient of a
social science fellowship from
the University of Chicago, a
Ford Foundation grant and
most recently a Herzl
Fellowship from the Center
for the Study of Zionism and
the Yishuv at Hebrew
University.
The lecture is open to the
public.
