Shaarey Zedek has commissioned an original musical work to mark the 40th anniversary of Israel's statehood. Cantor Chaim Najman said the oratorio, titled Not So Wild A Dream, was written by American Jewish com- poser, Dr. Morton Gold. The text was written by Cantor Samuel Rosenbaum of Rochester, N.Y. The work will be performed 7:30 p.m. April 21 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek, as this year's Peter and Clara Weisberg's concert. It will include a large adult chorus, a children's choir, soloists and orchestra — a total of more than 100 par- ticipants. The premiere per- formance will be conducted by the composer. The commission of Not So Wild A Dream was made possible by Clara and the late Peter Weisberg, who I have Cong. Beth Abraham Hillel Moses will honor the children of its members born during the past year at a Shabbat service at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
