Soviet Jews
Raise Funds

A

group of local Soviet
Jewish emigres has
been raising money
for the Jewish National Fund.
This past autumn the group
delivered $2,000, collected
from 120 JNF "Blue Boxes."
Yosef Ayzin, a JNF
volunteer who has lived in
the Detroit area for eight
years, organized the collec-
tion as a way of thanking the
Jewish People for taking up
the cause of Soviet Jewry.
Another group, the Soviet
Jewry Imigration Committee,
planted three gardens of over
300 trees in memory of
relatives killed during World
War IL
Active in the program have
been: Rose Mashkovich, Rose
Shargorodsky, Rose Chindik,
Nina Zusis, Rakhil Ulitsky,
Yefim Vovk, Lyubov Kuming,
Mary Movshovich, Lena
Fross, Vera Sapir, Michael
Goldstein, Sophia Kazakov,
Tania Rivkin, Vera Sleshker,
Natalie Gesse, Eva Rosenblat,
Khaya Ackerman and Dora
Soifer.
Active in the program are:
Anatole Smolitsky, Evgheni
Pressayzen, Lorisa Bank,
Meikr Gluzman; Rudolf
Kasirkin, Jeanne Vilenski
and Jeanne Piskover.

Synagogue Cites
Torah Reader

Abraham Rabinowitz, who
has been the Ibrah reader for
Congregation B'nai Moshe
for 35 years, will be honored
this Shabbat during morning
services.
He will be presented with a
"Yad," the pointer he has
been using while reading the
Torah these 35 years.
Members of he congregation
will substitute as the Torah
readers during the service. A
special kiddush in his honor
will follow.

Bais Chabad Torah Center
will deliver two Pesach
seminars at 8 p.m. Monday
and March 28 at the Torah
Center.
