Weitzman Twins
His Bar Mitzvah
Aaron Weitzman, son of Dr.
and Mrs. Raymond Weitz-
man, will twin his bar mitz-
vah on Saturday with Daniel
Lifshitz of Moscow, RSFSR,
USSR.
Daniel is the son of Michael
and Valentine Lifshitz. Lif-
shitz is a chemical engineer
in Moscow; his wife is an
English teacher. They and
Mrs. Lifshitz's mother filed
their first request in 1979 for
emigration, but they were
refused on the pretext that
they might be aware of
secrets because Lifshitz's
brother had worked in a
research institute. Both Lif-
shitzes lost their jobs after fil-
ing for a visa request, and it
was necessary to sell personal
possessions to sustain
themselves.
Lifshitz was finally able to
secure employment, but not
in his profession.

Plans Meeting
The next meeting of the
Charles Shapiro Post will be
held on Sunday at 9 a.m. at
the Jewish War Veterans
Memorial Home.
The meeting will include
the nominations for officers
and reports of the recent visit
to the Veterans' Hospital in
Ann Arbor and the Michigan
Department meeting. Light
refreshments will be served,
and all Jewish War Veterans
are welcome.
