YOU SHOULDN'T EAT
EVERYTHING PUT IN
FRONT OF YOU.
You should avoid foods high in
cholesterol. It's a fact, a high
blood cholesterol level sub-
stantially increases your
chances of developing heart
disease. By cutting down on
fatty, rich foods, you can do
yourself a big favor. You could
lower your blood cholesterol
level and reduce your risk of
heart disease.

t

was billed as "Puttin'
On The Ritz — Detroit
Style" by Valley Detroit
Chapter, City of Hope in
California . . . But if nostalgia
and sentiment diplayed were
any indications of how
transplanted Detroiters real-
ly feel about their home town,
it became a "Night To
Remember — Detroit Style!'
The dinner-dance and re-
union held at the Valley
Hilton Hotel, Feb. 20, was a
smashing success writes
Anne Feldman . . . Each table
was indicated by a
memorable sign . . . Darbys,
Sam's Cut Rate, Kern's Clock,
Boesky's, Broadway Market,
Belle Isle, Hudson's, Dexter
Bus, Fisher Bldg., Am-
bassador Bridge, Bob-Lo and
many others . . . with the
guests asked to take the signs
home.
Both Northern and Central
high schools were well
represented . . . and screams
of recognitioon were heard all
evening, says Anne.
Detroiters Irene and Nate
Light attended with friends
Dr. Lionel Katchem and wife
Penny. of Upland, Calif. .. .
Among the people they saw
Diane and Steve
Wilbur, Joan Felsot, Myrna
and Ken Dosie, Jerry Delinka
with Barbara (Lachar) Mit-
nick, Rachel .- Schwartz,
Marilyn Limond, Arthur Doc-
tor, Eve Grant Samuels and
hubby Danny of Las Vegas,
David Radner, Harlene Sosin,
Lou and Tillie Jacobson (of
course they danced all night
like the two used to do at
Jakks, etc. — Lou is 92 and
Tillie 87), Faye and Lou
Vinegar, Simon Finkel, etc.
Committee for the suc-
cessful shindig in California
was . . . Shirley Katz, presi-
dent; Steve Wilbur, chairman;
David Radner, treasurer,
Helen Medwed, membership; -
Pearli Kaye, seating chairper-
son; and Anne Feldman,
publicity, who says, "It was
far above and beyond our ex-
pectations!"
LT. COL. JOE GLAZER
was recently honored for "22
years of outstanding leader-
ship, dedication and devotion!'
at Southfield Charley's ban-
quet hosting Southfield's
Emergency Management
volunteerss (former Civil
Defense) which began back in
the late '60s with Col. Arthur
Becker at the helm . . . Direc-
tor Marcel Charlette now
heads the group.

were ...

The event is usually a
gracious way for the city to
honor a group that does
everything in service to the
Southfield community .. .
Marcel Charlette called Joe
"the most spirited leader that
ever came up through the
ranks since the organization
was formed" . . . As a court of-
ficer, Joe has proven in-
valuable to judges, lawyers
and magistrates.
PASSOVER TIME is soon
here . . . and almost time for
the inmates at Jackson
Prison to have their annual
religious feast.
Rabbi Jeffrey Gale, prison
chaplain from Thmple Beth
Israel in Jackson, writes
again that the need to pur-
chase "necessary Passover
materials and paying for
special security requires con-
siderable funds!'
Checks in any amount,
makes no difference the size,
should be made out to "The
Jewish Inmate Benefit Fund"
and sent to Rabbi Jeffrey
Gale, 801 West Michigan,
Jackson, Mich. 49202 .. .
Receipts will be sent on
request.
SOMETHING a lot of peo-
ple have been waiting for .. .
Char appearing in this area
. . . The noted psychic who
has shared her rare gift with
people around the world for
nearly 12 years . . . helping
folks gain insight and
understanding of problems
and crises, will be at the Lan-
sing Civic Center on West
Allegan, downtown Lansing,
8 p.m., March 26.
She is a local gal . . . on TV
shows from here to Canada to
England and considered a
psychic phenomenon . . . Char
attended grade and high
schools in Oak Park . . . In
1974, she received her
bachelor's degree from Wayne
State U.
This will be Char's only ap-
pearance in her home state
this year.
DETROIT TIGER fan
Mark Leach can't wait for the
baseball season to begin .. .
He lives in Los Angeles now
and will see Kirk Gibson pout
with the L.A. Dodgers and
Dan Petry hurl for the
California Angels . . . Mark is
the son of localites Rosalie
and Saul Leach.
IF YOU remember Social,
Inc. at the old Jewish Com-
munity Center when it was
on Woodward and Hazelwood,
you'll want to be in on the
planning of a reunion . . .
Drop me a line at the paper.
