NEWS Israel's Soccer Team Loses Tel Aviv (JTA) — Israel's na- tional soccer team, forced to play in the Oceania region because Arab pressure has kept it out of the Middle East region, lost to Australia 2 to 0 in Melbourne last Sunday. The game was the first in the pre-Olympic Oceania tournament that will decide which teams in the region participate in the 1989 Olym- pics in Seoul, South Korea. The Israeli eleven will play the New Zealand team in Adelaide, Australia, and will meet the Taiwan team in Sydney. A rematch with the New Zealand team will be played at Christchurch, New Zealand, and a rematch against Taiwan will be played in Wellington, New Zealand. The Israelis will play New Zealand again in Auckland, New Zealand. Boycott Ends Aviv (JTA) — Denmark's major supermarket chain, Irma, has backed off from its boycott of Israeli agricultural products initiated earlier in the week "because of events in the occupied territories," the Israeli news media reported.
