B'nei Akiva
Plans Fast

B'nei Akiva will hold a na-
tionwide day of fasting Thurs-
day on behalf of Soviet
refuseniks Yuli and Inna
Kosharovsky. Activities will
be scheduled with Jewish day
schools, and Detroit B'nei
Akiva will telephone the Rus-
sian family on March 20.
The B'nei Akiva-Young
Israel of Southfield Sunday
Fun Groups (grades one-five)
will meet for a surprise event,
2:30 p.m. Sunday at the
synagogue. For information,

On Sunday evening,
Chevreyah Zach (grades six-
eight) will hold a Post-Purim
masquerade and olympiada.
There is an admission charge
and each participant must be
dressed in costume. For reser-

Sunday Fun Groups will
visit the Matzah Factory at
the Jewish Community
Center of West Bloomfield on
March 13. The group will
meet at the Young Israel of
Southfield at 1:30 p.m.
Two Israeli high school
goodwill ambassadors, Eli
Feinsilver and Merav
Kopelowitz, will join the
group for an oneg Shabbat to
discuss the different lifestyles
of Israeli and American
teenagers. The oneg will take
place, 8:30 p.m. March 18 at
the home of Susan Schlussel,
16980 Jeanette.
Members of Chevreyah Bet
(high school) are invited to
join B'nei Akiva on a trip to
Windsor, Ont. for a day of five
pin bowling on March 20.

Busses will leave from Young
Israel of Southfield at 2 p.m.
and advance reservations are
required.

taken for the $500 Oakland
Century B'nai B'rith
Scholarship.
To apply, submit a grade
transcript (no certification
necessary) together with a
typewritten memo in letter
form demonstrating com-
pliance with each of the
following requirements.
The applicant must be: a
Jewish student from the
Metro Detroit area who is
now attending a college or
university with at least one
full year of credits towards a
degree (sophomore or above);
who has superior scholarship;
who demonstrates a need for
such financial asistance; who
show leadership qualities for
the future benefit of the
Detroit Jewish community;
and whose campus activity
shows established roots in
Metro Detroit.

Purim Carnival

Students are invited to par-
