"They played very disciplin- ed defense," said Rose. He call- ed it "a solid all-around per- formance from everybody!' Raffle Zuroff scored six goals and Hershel Goulsen tallied five. Danny Betsalel and Chaim Goldman scored the other goals. Rose called Starr, who also plays on Akiva's basketball squad, the team's number one star. Rose said goalie David Rosenberg, who shut the alumni down in the final two periods, was the second star. Leading goal-scorers Zuroff and Goulson shared the third star. The hockey team travels to Rochester for a three-game series against the Talmudic Institute of Upper New York on March 10-13. Scholarship Info Available Over 100,000 collegiate athletic scholarships are available each year to male and female high school and junior college student- athletes. Contrary to popular belief, students do not necessarily have to be all- state to qualify. Much of the money goes unused. The third annual New Israel Fund Lurie Award for Outstanding Reporting will present -$1,000 to what its panel of judges considers the coverage of Israel that most improves the public's understanding of social pro- blems and the democratic pro- cess there.
