Dinner Slated

Cong. B'nai Israel of West

nual Torah Fund Dinner, 6

synagogue.
There is a charge. For reser-

short program about the
Jewish Theological Seminary,
which is partially supported
by the Torah Fund.

Viola Harris
Viola Harris will be the
featured artist at a
tricongregational concert
March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at
Cong. Beth Shalom.
This annual event is co-
sponsored by three area
synagogues: Cong. Beth
Shalom, Cong. B'nai Moshe
and Temple Emanu-El.
Ms. Harris has a
distinguished career in
theater, television and film.
She has appeared in a varie-
ty of musicals including Fid-
dler on the Roof Music Man,
Raisins and Almonds and
Come Blow Your Horn.
In addition to degrees in
theater from Hunter College
and Northwestern University,
Ms. Harris is a graduate of
the Seminary College of the
Jewish Theological Seminary.
The show, "Laughter and

At B'nai Moshe

The Golden Age of Second
Avenue, recalling the glories
of the Jewish theater, will be
shown at Cong. B'nai Moshe
8 p.m. March 12.
There is a charge and
tickets may be obtained at
the door. Refreshments will

Golden Calf
Is Rabbi's Topic

"The Golden Calf: Can Man
Talk With God?" will be
discussed by Rabbi Allan
Meyerowitz, 7 p.m. March 13
at Cong. B'nai Moshe.
Refreshments will be served.

The community is invited.
The "Torah for Tots" pro-
gram will be held at 10 a.m.
March 13.
"Morning Minyan for Tots"
will be held at 10 a.m. Tues-
day and March 15 and 22.
"Euthanasia and Suicide"
is the topic at the `I.Ainch
with the Rabbi" program,
12:30 p.m. Saturday. Lunch
reservations are closed, but
persons interested in the pro-
gram may come to the
synagogue chapel at 1:20 p.m.
and attend free of charge.

Torah In USSR

Rabbi and Mrs. Elimelech
Goldberg will present a slide
presentation, "Teaching
Torah in the Soviet Union,"
8:30 p.m. Saturday at Young
Israel of Southfield.
There is no charge.

Temple Will
Honor Teachers

Temple Emanu-El will
honor its teaching staff today
with a Shabbat dinner for all
teachers and their families.
Teachers will participate in
the Family Shabbat Services
following dinner and receive
special recognition for tenure
and for superior
professionalism.
Teachers participating in
the service are Marilyn Dano,
Julie Englender, Cantor Nor-
man Rose, Fran Barnes,
Robin Morelli, Toba Abrin
and Dr. Margaret S. Eichner,
director of education and
youth activities.
