former Detroiter of North
Miami, Fla., died Feb. 27. He
leaves his wife, Sylvia; a
daughter, Sharon Wittenberg
of Ann Arbor; and four grand-
children. Interment Detroit.

HELEN FAUST, 88, died
March 1. She leaves two
brothers, Samuel N. Goldberg
and Irving Goldberg; nieces
and nephews.

SAMUEL FREED, 81,
former Detroiter of Phoenix,
Ariz., died Feb. 29. Survived
by his wife, Raye; a son, Mur-
ray of Southfield; a daughter,
Mrs. Sheldon (Diane) Benis of
West Bloomfield; a brother,
Joseph of San Diego, Calif.;
seven grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

HARRY A. HARWOODS,
80, died Feb. 28. He leaves a
son, Fred; a daughter, Bar-
bara Parmet; four sisters,
Mrs. Sol (Ethel) Lakind, Ida
Honig, Beatrice Zerkel and
Dorothy Horowitz.

REVA HECHT, 79, died Feb.
25. She leaves two daughters,
Mrs. Sidney (Jacquelin)
Sorkin of Flint and Mrs.
Stuart (Paulette) Freedman;
ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

HERBERT LANSKY, 60,
former Detroiter of Houston,
Tex., died Feb. 18. Survived by
his wife, Elizabeth; a son,
Michael; two daughters, Ilisa
of Houston and Alise
Wagenberg of Birmingham;
his mother, Hilda Lansky of
West Bloomfield; a sister, Bar-
bara Zolkower of West Bloom-
field; and a grandson. Inter-
ment Houston.

ESTHER LAX, 90, of
Detroit, died Feb. 27. Surviv-
ed by two sons, Ben of New
Port Richey, Fla., and Fred of
Livonia; three sisters, Fanny
of Netanya, Israel, Mrs.
George (Oroncha) Schwarcz of
Ramat, Israel, and Mrs. Her-
man (Theresa) Farkas of
Silver Spring, Md.; 15 grand-
children and seven
great-grandchildren.

VERA W. NEWMAN, 95,
died Feb. 25. She leaves a son,
Sidney J. Newman, Jr., of
Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter,
Mrs. Leonard (Sylvia) Forrest;
four grandchidren and seven
great-grandchildren.

BETTY NUCH, former
Detroiter of Hallandale, Fla.,
died Feb. 13. Survived by her
husband, Joseph; a sister,
Mrs. David (Helen) Schrage of
Hallandale; a brother, George
Feinberg of Palm City, Fla.;
nieces and nephews.

ROSE PERPER, 62, former
Detroiter of Spring Valley,
N.Y., died Feb. 22. Survived by
her husband, Herman; three
sons, Dr. Russell, Dr. Jeffrey
and Bradley; a daughter,
Dana; her mother, Anna
Saltzman of Venice, Calif.;
two brothers, Herman
Schwartz of West Bloomfield
and Edward Schwartz of San
Diego, Calif.; and two grand-
children. Interment New
York.

HERMAN REMER, 85,
former Detroiter of Florida,
died Jan. 22. Survived by his
wife, Florence; a sister, Arline
Susman of Portland, Ore; a
brother, Nathan of Troy;
nieces and nephews.

GOLDIE ROSNER, 92, died
Feb. 28. She leaves a
daughter, Mrs. Judith Krass;
five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

JENNIE SCHATTEN, 80,
died Feb. 25. She leaves a son,
Ronald of Miami, Fla.; a
daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Schat-
ten; a sister, Mrs. Harold
(Sarah) Isser; and two
grandchildren.

SAMUEL SHREEMAN, 60,
died Feb. 27. He leaves four
children, Eric, Mrs. Avner
(Diane) Wertheimer, Marc
and Michael; his mother, Mrs.
Sarah Shreeman; two sisters,
Mrs. Irving (Lillian) Meisner
and Mrs. Jacob (Edith)
Kaplan; and one grandson.

DAVID SILVER, 87, died
Feb. 19. Survived by his wife,
Esther; two sons, Joseph and
Larry of San Francisco, Calif.;
four sisters, Mrs. Ann
Wallach, Mrs. Rivka Klestadt
of Israel, Mrs. Henya
Lipowsky of Tel Aviv, Israel,
and Eva of Israel; and one
grandson.

Calif., died Feb. 4. Survived
by a son, Sol of Sausalito,
Calif.; and three grand-

MAX TACHMAN, 77, died
Feb. 26. He leaves his wife,
Florence; two daughters, Mrs.
Lou (Diane) Frederick and
Mrs. Sam (Marsha) Krinsky;
a son, Raymond of Grand
Rapids; six grandchildren and
one great-grandson.

LILLIAN R. TUCKER, 73,
of Oak Park, died Feb. 24.
Survived by a son, Jack W.;
three daughters, Judith,
Sharon Winans and Mrs. Jon
(Fran) Krueger of Omer,
Mich.; three sisters, Mrs.
Philip (Eve) Spitz of St.
Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Anne
Hirshfield; and four
grandchildren.

MOLLY
WHITEFIELD, 90, of
Southfield, died Feb. 27. Sur-
vived by a daughter, Mrs. Abe
(Blanche) Turett; six grand-
children and six great-
grandchildren.

VICTOR ZUCKERMAN,
78, died Feb. 27. He leaves his
wife, Anne; a daughter, Mrs.
Charles (Barbara) Sachse; a
brother, Emanuel Leonard;
and three grandchildren.

Morris Gruskin

Morris Gruskin, chief in-
vestigator for the Wayne
County Prosecutor's office,
died Feb. 25 at age 75.
Born in Detroit, Mr.
Gruskin resided in New
Smyrna, Fla., at the time of
his death. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of Perfec-
tion Lodge of the Masons, the
Moslem Shrine and was a
founder of the Wayne County
Civic League.
He leaves his wife, Hazel;
two sons, Michael L. of West
Bloomfield and Daryl W. of
Royal Oak; a brother, Ben-
jamin of Southfield; and two
grandchildren. Interment
Detroit.

Nathan Kolb

Nathan Kolb, co-founder
and co-owner of the Citrin-
Kolb Oil Co., died Feb. 26 at
age 84.
Born in Russia, Mr. Kolb
was a founding member and
board member of Temple
Israel. He was a member of
Perfection Lodge of the
Masons, the Moslem Shrine
and the Oilmen's Club.
He leaves his wife, Mollie; a
daughter, Mrs. Jack
(Adrienne) Milli; and two
grandchildren.
