Prof. Alvin Rosenfeld

Dr. Alvin H. Rosenfeld, pro-
fessor of English and director
of Jewish studies at Indiana
University, Bloomington, will
deliver a lecture for the
Holocaust Memorial Center
on Monday at 7:30 p.m. His
topic will be "Post-Holocaust
Reactions in Germany to the
Holocaust?'
Rosenfeld received his Ph.D.
degree from Brown Universi-
ty in 1967 and has taught at
Indiana University since
1968. He has also been a
visiting professor at the
University of Kiel in Ger-
many and the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem. He
was a visiting research fellow
at Hamburg University.
The editor of William Blake:
Essays (1969) and the Col-

lected Poetry of John
Wheelwright (1972), he is also
the author of numerous
scholarly and critical articles
on American Poetry, Jewish
writers, and the literature of
the Holocaust.
A member of the education
committee of the United
States Holocaust Memorial
Council in Washington, D.C.,
he formerly served as a
special adviser to Elie Wiesel
when the latter was the coun-
cil's chairman. He presently
serves the Wexner Heritage
Foundation as an educational
consultant and lecturer, is a
member of the international
committee of the Institute of
Contemporary Jewry at the
Hebrew University, and is a
member of the international
advisory council of the Anti-
Defamation League's Center
for Holocaust Studies.
A contributing editor to the
American Poetry Review, he is
also a member of the editorial
boards of Holocaust and
Genocide Studies, Witness,
and Face to Face.
The lecture will be held in
Shiffman Hall of the Maple
Drake Jewish Community
Center. There is no charge,
the building is wheelchair ac-
cessible, and the community
is invited.
