Hamantashen
(Cookie Dough)

Let Dad gather the ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp.
baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt
(optional), 1/2 cup butter or
margarine, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, 2
tbsp. Coffee Rich, 1 tsp. vanilla
extract.
While Mom creams together the
butter and sugar, the kids and Dad
can mix and sift the flour, baking
powder and salt. Mom can add the
egg to the creamed butter and
sugar. Dad can add the dry
ingredients alternately with the
Coffee Rich to the egg-butter-sugar
mixture. One of the kids can add
vanilla.
Let one of the older children roll
out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
Let the other kids cut into 2-inch
rounds (a drinking glass makes a
good cookie cutter!). Fill with
canned poppyseed, prune, almond,
apricot or fruit pie filling. Let
everyone try their hands at drawing
up the sides to make triangles. Let
Mom put the hamantashen in the
oven at 350 degrees and bake
about 20 minutes until lightly
browned.
