Formerly known as the Hechal Shlomo choir and founded in 1958, the choir's visit to Detroit marks its first tour abroad and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the State of Israel. The choir per- forms under the artistic direc- torship of Elli - Jaffe, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London. The dinner concert will also feature Cantor Naftali Herstik. Herstik is a former protege of Moshe Kussevit- sky, Benvenuto Finelli and Mark Raphael. As an added highlight, Herstik's ten-year- old son, Nethaniel, also will perform.
