Jennifer Taylor

Jennifer Taylor, daughter of
Anita and Ronald Taylor, will
twin the observance of her
bat mitzvah celebration at
Adat Shalom Synagogue at 9
a.m. Saturday with Olga
Sungurov, daughter of Larisa
and Yuri Sungurov of
Moscow, USSR.
Sungurov and his family
applied for emigration in
1979. They received a refusal
the following year for
unknown reasons and have
since received eight refusals.
All of Larisa's relatives are in
Israel and the U.S.
Jennifer has written to
Olga and will attempt to
reach the family by phone.
Jennifer is the grand-
daughter of Rose and Morris
Sher and Betty and Julius
Taylor.

Twinning Due
At Synagogue

Stephanie
Burstein,
daughter of Richard and
Gayle Burstein, will celebrate
her bat mitzvah Saturday at
Sabbath services at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek. Stephanie
will stand in proxy for her
twin in the Soviet Union,
Olga Cirelson, daughter of
Mikhail and Lucy Cirelson of
Leningrad.
A cinema engineer,
Cirelson was the first of his
family to apply for emigration
in 1978. He was denied per-
mission due to "secrets" he
possessed from his army ser-
vice. Fired from his job, he is
now working as a mailman
and also translates and
teaches Hebrew. His brother,
Boris, and his parents, Esther
and Simon, are also
refuseniks.
The Burstein family will
ask the congregation to write
to the Cirelson family at:
Petra Lavrova Ul. 25, Apt. 9,
Leningrad S-28, RSFSR,
USSR. The Burstein family
has post cards prepared to
mail en masse following the
bat mitzvah ceremony.
