Michael Weiss, a junior at
West Bloomfield High School
and graduate of the United
Hebrew High School, has won
a $500 award in a short-story
writing contest sponsored by
the Detroit Auto Dealers
Association.
Michael, who is the son of
Leslie and Avra Weiss and the
grandson of Ruth Coblentz
and Sandor and Elizabeth
Weiss, has won several other
writing awards and is an ac-
tive member of the United
Synagogue Youth chapter at
Cong. Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses.

Toronto Trip
For UHS Group

Ninth graders of the United
Hebrew Schools Community
Jewish High School and
Shaarey Zedek Religious
School will take a three day
trip to Toronto
Sunday-Tuesday.
Educational and cultural
places of both Jewish and
secular interest will be
visited. Highlights include
the science center, CN Tower,
a play, Agatha Christie's
Mousetrap, a tour of Beth
Tzedek Synagogue and

Adat Shalom Synagogue
has planned "A Sports Galore
Social" for Feb. 27 at the
Franklin Racquet Club and
Spa at 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature
walleyball, tennis, racquet-
ball, aerobics and swimming.
The activities will be follow-
