YAD Hosts
Ethiopian

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Young Adult Division
will kick off its political
awareness lecture series with
a discussion of the accultura-
tion process of Ethiopian im-
migrants in Israel, 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday at the United
Hebrew Schools.
The meeting is sponsored
by the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Young Adult Division,
and is open to all young
adults (post-college to early
30s). A dessert reception is
included.
YAD will host native Ethio-
pian Teshome G. Wagaw, who
spent a year in Israel as a
Fulbright Scholar, studying
the absorption of Ethiopian
Jews. He is a professor of
education, Afro-American
and African studies at the
University of Michigan and a
former department head and
dean at Addis Ababa
University.
There is a fee and reserva-
tions are required. For infor-

Features Siegel

Poet, teacher and mitzvah
maven Danny Siegel will be
one of the two featured
speakers in May at the
University of the Woods
series being offered by the
Fresh Air Society and the
Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies.
Siegel will be featured May
16-18 with dramatist Henry
Shreiman and several local
artists in a weekend series for
adults aged 55 and older at
the Butzel Conference Center
at Camp Maas. Their topic
will be "Cultural Arts, A
Window to the Jewish Soul."
The April 16-18 session will
focus on "Jewish Humor: For
Survival and Beyond," and
features comedian Alan
Gould and Dr. Sheila
Feigelson.

Fair Is Slated

High school programs,
along with other travel, study
and work opportunities in
Israel, will be highlighted at
an Israel Program Fair 3 p.m.

Jewish Community Center.

periences with interested peo-
ple. Also featured will be a
