ington Hills is a beautiful,
elegant, dimly-lit restaurant
where you read the menu by
candlelight as the chandeliers

you're in a fine Italian dining
spot. Adding to the enchant-
ment, a harpist plays
soothing melodies. You're
treated royally by low-key
waiters who don't interrupt
your mellow mood as they
quietly see to your every
need. The salad is crisp with
just the right touch of dress-
ing. The veal is tender and
prepared with personal care.
We enjoyed the hearty
lasagna with meat sauce. A
dinner at Cortina is basking
in luxury.

but classy lunch spot where
you carry your own tray with
goodies such as chicken salad
on a croissant or a crisp, fresh
salad. At dinner, fresh pasta,
fish and chicken are brought
to your table.

Grill on Northwestern
Highway in Southfield has a
casually-trendy look with
neo-art deco geometrics and
lots of seafood, pasta and fish
on the menu. You won't find
the food disappointing and
you'll no doubt meet your
friends here in this bustling,
jovial atmosphere.
"Ristorante di Modesta on
Northwestern in Southfield
manages to capture the
elegance and simplicity of
Italian dining. The pasta
dishes are as close to Italian
cooking as you're likely to get
in this area.
"Another Norman Lepage
restaurant is Norman's Eton
Street Station on Eton in Bir-
mingham. The train station
was converted into an art-
deco bar and restaurant
which draws trendy locals.
The atmosphere is more in-
teresting than most of the
food which is average.
"Maverick's on Woodward
in Royal Oak has been
remodeled with old brick,
dark wood paneling, beveled
glass and fake Tiffany lamps.
But if you're hankering for a
burger and fries in a family
