pointed executive director of
Cong. Beth Achim. He was
graduated from the Rabbi
Zlotnick Seminary for
Hebrew Teachers in South
Africa. Subsequently, he
studied Hebrew literature
and Jewish history at the
Hebrew University in
Jerusalem.
Vainik obtained the degrees
of Bachelor of Arts and
Bachelor of Accounting
Science from the University
of South Africa. He also holds
a diploma in management
from the Chartered Institute
of Secretaries, London.
He has extensive ex-
perience in synagogue ad-
ministration and adult educa-
tion. He was executive direc-
tor of the Green and Sea Point
Hebrew Congregation of Cape
Town, the largest Jewish con-
gregation in South Africa. He
has served as executive direc-
tor to local congregations.
