Selma Lerner

Selma Lerner will be
honored Jan. 30 by the
Shaarey Zedek Men's Club at
Shabbat services and at the
lunch which will follow.
Over the past 11 years,
Lerner has served as program
coordinator for the Men's
Club.

In the 35 years of her affilia-
tion with Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, Lerner has served as
chairman of the youth com-
mittee, kiddush chairman
and a vice president of the
sisterhood.
Lerner is a past president of
the Women's Auxiliary of
Jewish National Fund, a
member of Hadassah,
Women's American ORT, and
Women for Bar Ilan
University.
There is a charge for lun-
cheon. For reservations, call
the synagogue, 357-5544.
Robert Bayer is Men's Club
Shabbat chairman. Dr.
Joseph H. Langnas is presi-
dent of the men's club.

Howard To Speak
At Temple

Jeffrey Howard will be the
Temple Emanu-El guest
speaker for Federation Shab-
bat at 8:15 p.m. today in the
Anne Jospey Sanctuary. His
topic will be "A Matter of
Commitment."

Jeffrey Howard

Howard is co-chairman of
the Metropolitan Division of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion. He is a past president of
the Young Adult Division of
Federation and a recipient of
the William H. Boesky
Memorial Award for Young
Leadership.
Howard is a life-long
member of "Ample Emanu-El
and has been active on com-
mittees, as an officer, as a
trustee of the congregation.
