Tamarac, Fla., will celebrate
their 50th wedding anniver-
sary Jan. 30.
Lax is a past president of
Adat Shalom Synagogue and
its men's club. He also is a
past chairman of the United
Jewish Appeal and Israel
Bonds at the Woodlands
Country CLub in Tamarac,
acid at Hillcrest Country Club
in Hollywood, Fla.
He is also a member of
Tamarac Jewish Center, Anti-
Defamation League, B'nai
B'rith, and Zionist Organiza-
tion of America. He was an
owner of Ida Windows in
Detroit.
1VIrs. Lax still is active in
Adat Shalom Sisterhood,
Women's American ORT,
Women's League for Israel,

UJA, and B'nai B'rith.

The Laxes' children are
Rosalind S. Lax of Chicago,
Mr. and Mrs. Ira E. Lax of
Southfield and Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence S. Lax of

Adelson 55th
Emma and Oscar Adelson
celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary on Dec. 14.

JCC Council Delegates

Hear Israel Press Consul

The Jewish Community
Council's Delegate Assembly
\\Till take place Thursday at 8
p.m. in the LaMed
Auditorium of United Hebrew
Schools.
Moshe Fox, Israel's official
consul for press and informa-
tion in the midwestern U.S.,
will address the assembly.
Born in Haifa, Israel, in
1948 Fox was graduated from
the department of general
and Jewish history at the
Hebrew University of
Jerusalem. He has just com-
pleted a Master of Arts

,

degree in contemporary
Jewish history, specializing in
the history of the American
Jewish community.
Fox joined Israel's Ministry
of Foreign Affairs in 1977 as
assistant in the information
division, and in 1979 he
became assistant to Foreign
Ministers Moshe Dayan, now
deceased, and Yitzhak
Shamir. Two years later he
was posted to the Israeli Em-
bassy in Washington. During
his tour of duty, he served as
an assistant to Israeli Am-
bassadors to the U.S.
