Ali
new . . . since food has always
been its main theme.
No more dance floor (large
booths instead), soft piano
music for dining Thursday,
Friday and Saturday, still
more large booths in the
lounge \\There Detroit Tiger
pitcher Jack Morris likes to
hang out, dinner menu for
complete family dining, etc.
And brunch every Sunday,
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the en-
tire family.
Seating now by Johnny and
Pat Ginoplois has reached
almost 200 plus a private
banquet room for about 100.
THERE'S NO sign on
Telegraph Rd. and folks
might think Jacques isn't
there anymore . . . but it is
still at the same location .. .
Bingham Farms Office Bldg.
between 12 and 13 Mile .. .
and according to a recent visit
there, much better than our
previous time.
New executive chef Tina
Woolley has made a difference
. . . with her colorful presen-
tations which mean so much
in fine dining . . . and very
tasty creativeness to enhance
Tina's varied culinary skills.
Her leap from dietary aide
at St. Joseph Hospital to the
Lark and Bijou have accented
innovativeness . . . and
customers are enjoying Tina's
dishes with delight.
Jacques has always been a
beautiful restaurant with its
windows overlooking a char-
ming atrium garden, seating
175 at tables and booths.
I must say that the white
fish I had there recently was
among the finest anywhere
. . . and the platter so colorful
with vegetables and potatoes
that made it look like a Tina
Woolley table portrait instead
of a meal . . . Many times a
plate will look good, but the
food not close to its lovely
presentation . . . At Jacques
now, however, both go hand in
hand.
Probably one of the finest
waitresses around, Marie Lil-
ly, in her tuxedo . . . so very ef-
ficient, personable and plea-
sant ... brought us the white
fish with graceful knowledge
. . . Another good thing about
Marie . . . she is one of the few
waitpersons I know who can
tell you the day's specials
without reading from a card
of cuff.
And where else can you
have a banquet planner, coor-
dinator, etc. like Donna
Rosen? . . . (I would be very
surprised if Donna wasn't
made manager at Jacques,
she's so very capable.)
