JEAN PETRO, 75, of
Southfield, died Jan. 1. Sur-
vived by a son, Jack Smaller
of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a
daughter, Mrs. Elton (Phyllis
Kovary) Houston; two
brothers, Harry Smaller of
Florida and Sam Smaller of
Chicago, Ill.; eight grand-
children and six great-
grandchildren.

LOUIS REISIG, 82, died
Jan. 5. Survived by a son,
Martin; a daughter, Roberta
of New York; a brother, David;
and two grandchildren.

ROSE LINDA RITTEN, 78,
died Dec. 28. She leaves two
brothers, Jack Lafer and
Sidney Lafer; and a sister,
Mrs. David (Florence)

79, died Dec. 30. She leaves
two sons, Frederic and Dr.
Albert; a brother, Dr. Sidney

BERNICE I. SAMSKY, 70,
died Dec. 31. She leaves a son,
Morris Michael; a brother,
Leslie Israel; and four sisters,
Mrs. Joseph (Faye) Gross,
Mrs. Zola (Rae) Beck, Mrs.
Benjamin (Sylvia) Blum of
North Miami Beach, Fla., and
Mrs. Earl (Freda) Boman.

DAVID SCHRAGE, 85,
former Detroiter of Hallan-
dale, Fla., died Dec. 30. He
leaves his wife, Helen; two
sons, Robert of Valencia,
Calif., and Harold of Van
Nuys, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs.
Alexander (Faye) Ullmann of
Bloomfield Hills; a sister,
Mrs. Julius (Leah) Lazarus of
South Africa; and five grand-
children. Interment Detroit.

DAVID SHELDON, 31, died
Dec. 31. Survived by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
(Geraldine) Sheldon; a sister,
Mrs. Steven (Lilli) Frohlich;
and a niece.

SARAH (ZARON) WEBER-
MAN, 94, of Southfield, died
Dec. 24. Survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Lawrence
(Esther) Wiener of Delray
Beach, Fla., and Marilyn
Zaron of California; two
brothers, Jack King and
Joseph King of Boca Raton,
Fla.; five grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.

ROSE ZEMAN, 100, died
Dec. 29. She leaves three
daughters, Mrs. Molly Gross,
Mrs. Samuel (Mary) Lupiloff
and Mrs. Sidney (Sadie)
Schlaff; five grandchildren
and seven great-grand-
children.

Eugene White

Eugene P. (Bud) White,
founder and owner of Campus
Discount and White Advertis-
ing, Inc., died Dec. 23 at age
68.
A native Detroiter, Mr.
White was a former member
of Cong. Shaarey Zedek, past
president of B'nai B'rith, a
member of the Jewish War
Veterans and a World War II
veteran, having served in the
U.S. Air Force. He resided in
East Lansing at the time of
his death.
Mr. White leaves his wife,
Betty; three sons, Glenn of
Haslett, Gary of Arizona and
Charles of Lansing; a
daughter, Kathy of Haslett; a
brother, Ernest "Ernie" of
West Bloomfield; and four
grandchildren. Interment
Lansing.

Fannie Becher

Retail shoe executive Fan-
nie Becher died Dec. 29 at age
91.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Becher
lived 65 years in Detroit. She
was a member of Hadassah
and a life member of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
She leaves two sons, Sher-
man Becker and Lester
Becker of La Jolla, Calif.; a
daughter, Sylvia Gallant; ten
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
